Andrew roberts king george5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() Roberts explains how he conducted his research: “Since 2015 The Queen has put some 200,000 pages of The Georgian Papers Programme online. He later commented: “She was interested in music and reading, and she comes over as a much more engaged figure and completely different to the one portrayed in Bridgerton.” It was a loving and happy marriage until this dreadful disease killed it off”, he says. Roberts’ research has also uncovered new fact about his wife Queen Charlotte, to whom he was lovingly and faithfully married, and had 15 children with, 13 of whom survived: “She was a fine Queen, and a very good woman. ![]() ![]() ![]() But Roberts says George’s mental illness, for which he received cruel treatments, would be recognised today as bipolar disorder, not porphyria, and that he should have been more sympathetically attended to. Indeed Hytner’s 1994 film received serval Oscars. The playwright Alan Bennett and the film and theatre director Nicholas Hytner also found George III to be good copy. It is said to be the most important, well-researched and sensitive fresh study of any British monarch in the last 50 years. Mary wollstonecraft 1759 17975/13/2023 ![]() Instead of viewing women as ornaments to society or property to be traded in marriage, Wollstonecraft maintains that they are human beings deserving of the same fundamental rights as men. She argues that women ought to have an education commensurate with their position in society, claiming that women are essential to the nation because they educate its children and because they could be "companions" to their husbands, rather than mere wives. In it, Wollstonecraft responds to those educational and political theorists of the eighteenth century who did not believe women should receive a rational education. ![]() ![]() ![]() A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on Political and Moral Subjects at WikisourceĪ Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on Political and Moral Subjects (1792), written by British philosopher and women's rights advocate Mary Wollstonecraft (1759–1797), is one of the earliest works of feminist philosophy. ![]()

This allows you to to experience things that would be difficult, dangerous, expensive or even impossible to experience in real life. ![]() The uniquely immersive and interactive nature, the illusions of place, plausibility and embodiment, create a sense that things are actually happening to you. Not simply watching or reading about something but actually experience them as if they are happening to you. Experienceīailenson’s main idea is that VR allows you to experience things. Experience on Demand is a book for the general public and VR practitioners that summarises his findings and those of other researchers. ![]()

George rr martin not a blog5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() So, Game of Thrones actually began with turtles.’ (This is probably our favourite of all the George R. I gave them all names, and since they were living in a toy castle, I decided they were all knights and kings … and I made up stories about how they killed each other and betrayed each other and fought for the kingdom. Martin says The Winds of Winter could be the longest book in A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIAF) thus far. Martin explained in 2012, ‘I had an entire toy castle filled with dime-store turtles. Martin takes to his 'not a blog' to give yet another update on The Winds of Winter, saying the sixth book in ASOIAF will be the biggest. As the turtles kept dying in their toy castle, the young Martin imagined that they must be jostling for position, trying to kill of their rivals for the turtle-throne. ![]() Martin would dream up stories involving ‘sinister plots’ hatched by the turtles. Martin also wrote about his pet turtles – and this provided the germ of the central idea of A Song of Ice and Fire. Many of the stories would feature monsters, and the going rate was just one cent. As well as providing a copy of the story, the young Martin would also throw in a spine-chilling performance of the tale.ģ. Martin began his writing ‘career’ by penning short stories, which he’d sell to classmates and neighbouring children. ![]()

Turn On The Night by Jacqueline Sweet5/12/2023 ![]() ![]() I loved her three protectors, who all seemed so unique from each other, and who's backstory we all got to see, which is awesome because I find that's something that can be lacking in RH.Ī few things of note that key this from a 5 stars for me: there were a few instances where the point of view became muddled, like instead of third person limited, it was third person omniscient, which was at least mostly ignorable. I loved the magical world that was being weaved and I was so excited to learn more about it and how it all worked. I loved getting to know Tamsin, her men and her powers. ANYTHING but page stuffing.īesides being extremely disappointed by that fact, I did enjoy the story quite a lot. Give us good blurbs so I want to go read those other stories while I wait for book 2 to release. I get when an author has other work to showcase, I really do, but leave that for the last 5-10% and then include links for other places to read it. If my rating reflected how annoyed I am by this it'd be a 2 or a 3 stars, because page stuffing is NOT cool. The rest of it looks to be stories in the same world, but NOT the same book. I'll say that again 57% on the kindle app. ![]() I just finished reading Turn on the Night at 57% through. ![]()
